How To Take Screenshots on Chromebook

On most Windows computers, you can take screenshots by using the Print Screen (PrtScn) key on the keyboard. Applications like Snagit can enhanced screenshot functionality by adding more powerful features to it. But, unfortunately, there is no Print Screen key on the standard Chromebook keyboards.

To take screenshot on Chromebooks, you should press Ctrl and window switcher keys together. This would save a PNG image of the current screen to the Downloads folder of the Chromebook. You can view and edit it just like any other image saved on your device.

Chrome Extensions For Screenshots

Apart from the above keyboard combination, you can also use several Chrome extensions and apps for taking screenshots on Chromebooks and other Chrome OS devices like Chromebox and Chromebit (which may not have a Chromebook keyboard). TechSmith’s Snagit is quite handy extension with several powerful features like Google Drive integration and Annotation. Awesome Screenshot is another popular extension with many advanced editing features.
